Any changes to Alberta’s water allocation system will have significant impacts on municipalities. Many Albertan municipalities, especially those in southern Alberta, are already facing enormous challenges in obtaining sufficient water supplies to meet their community needs. Municipalities and their citizens should have an important voice in the review, and as such we have surveyed candidates in the upcoming Alberta municipal elections about their position on water and the water allocation review.
